<p>A couple of months ago I was introduced to the devlopment chairty VSO and was offered the challenge of raising money with the target of &pound;2350 and the goal of reaching Mount Everest Base Camp.</p> <p>Since then I have become the Adventure Leader for Portsmouth University through the company Student Adventures whom organsies these treks. My mission was to recruit 20 volunteers to join me on this absolutely epic adventure. Within 1 week of the introduction evening, with the help of Facebook, posters, emailing various departments and generally pestering people I had filled those 20 spaces and even stole some extra ones from the not-so-mighty Hertfordshire Uni just so my volunteers all had the opportunity to come along!</p> <p>The task now, up until we leave for Nepal, is to raise this rather large sum of monies. I strongly believe that it is a very achievable target, through friends, family and co-workers both in Portsmouth and back home - to businesses, schools and grants it can be achieved!</p> <p>Any money you can contribute is greatly appreciated and goes to a very worthy cause. A lump sum or casual offerings, whatever you see fit.&nbsp;</p> <p>I would love to see my team from the University of Portsmouth swamp Everest Base Camp, and with help from all of you we can see that happen!</p>
