Ski South Pole 2012 · 3 June 2012

War Child is striving for a world in which no child's life is torn apart by war. We protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children living in war zones across the world. Your support today will help us reach even more children in need.

Story

At the end of November 2012, I will be returning to Antarctica to attempt a long held childhood ambition to ski from the Antarctic coast to the South Pole.

The plan is to ski from the Ronne Ice Shelf to the South Pole unsupported from December to mid January. A distance of nearly 1,000km - and uphill all the way as the Pole lies at nearly 3,000m altitude.

If you donate 2,000 pounds or more, I will take a (small) personal item of yours in my sled to the South Pole and assuming I get there, I will take a picture of your item at the Pole.

A challenging target of raising 50,000 pounds for the award-winning Warchild charity has been set and with your support we can hopefully acheive this and get more children out of uniform and into school in conflict affected countries.

Expedition updates will be on my facebook and twitter pages.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks!

Toby
