10,500 people in the UK have ataxia which is a progressive neurological condition that disrupts the messages sent from our brains to our muscles that are used to move, speak, listen and see. Ataxia UK funds research into finding treatments and a cure and provide support until they are found.

Story

Hello.

My name is Samuel Merchant. I have a rare neurological condition known as Friedrich's Ataxia, to which there is currently no cure. There are several forms of Ataxia, and everyone is affected differently. Typically the symptoms are:

Difficulties in walking leading to need of a wheelchair.

Communication difficulties such as speech and sometimes hearing loss.

Loss of co-ordination such as during typing, writing or even using a knife and fork.

Overall physical exhaustion.

Fundraising for research and to buy adaptations brings the prospect of a cure or treatment closer. It also improves the lives of many sufferers.

Update!
I have done the jump. You can see the pictures and video here: http://www.cmdrcyrax.com/Skydive.html  :)

Please keep donating!

Thank you,
Sam Merchant
