After a few years of neglect, on a personal level, I found myself on the wrong side of 21 1/2 stone, I truly had not realised how bad things had got, but knew I needed to do something about it.

In March 2009 I began a strict diet and over the next six months managed to lose a total of 8 1/2  stone, reaching my target weight of 13st in August just before our family summer holiday.

Running the London Marathon has always been an ambition and something which always came up as an annual topic of conversation when watching it on the TV.

The changes I have made to my life and those I love has been dramatic, to say the least, now I would like to give something back.  By running the Marathon, not only will I be realising one of my personal ambitions, but also hopefully raising a considerable amount of money for the wonderful charity the NSPCC. Maybe this will help to change the lives of children less fortunate than our own.  Please help me achieve this by donating any amount however small or large, every penny helps.
