In the year 2000, Leaders around the World came together and drafted 8 goals called Millennium Development Goals (MDG), which aims to end poverty by 2015. The goals have specific yearly targets for every Country to achieve. Due to lack of support around the world, the Leaders couldn't keep up with the targets and they fell short every year. As citizens of this planet we can all STAND UP to ensure the targets are achieved and to remind ourselves to END POVERTY. As time is running out, there is an urgent need to SPEED UP the Act, so that these targets are achieved. Many children in India go to school barefoot and often have to walk long distances. The Slipper Campaign (In support of the second MDG) aims to provide these children with footwear and also have the opportunity to be educated. Our small contribution today will make a better and enlightened tomorrow for many.
