3 Peaks Challenge (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdon) · 26 June 2015

As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, we brighten the short lives of babies, children and young people who come to Rainbows. We want them to have fun and make special memories. We are also here to support their loved ones through the most difficult times of their lives.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On the Weekend of 26th/27th June we will be climbing the highest mountain in Scotland (Ben Nevis),  England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon), all within a 24 hour period in aid of Rainbows hospice for children and young  people.

About Rainbows

Rainbows hospice for children and young people relies heavily on public donations to keep the centre running. It is the only hospice in the East Midlands specifically designed for children and young people with life limiting illnesses and disabilities.

Sadly, some children simply don’t live long enough. But Rainbows is a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support. It's incredible team of people helps relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, support parents and siblings through their bereavements and care for children until the end.

All children need a place to play, laugh and love life. This sort of place can be very difficult to come by though, when your child has a serious, life limiting illness. This is where Rainbows comes in. It is a place where the children and their families are cared for and supported by an amazing bunch of people. A place where the children are free to express themselves. A place where expert care can simply allow the children to be children.

Susan Taylor

In 2013 Susan Taylor tragically lost her life whilst attempting to swim the English Channel in order to raise funds for Rainbows. Susan was just a mile from the French coast when she collapsed and sadly passed away.

Susan was an old school friend of one of our fundraisers. She was a truly inspirational person and her story touched the hearts of people all over the world.

It is for this reason that we would like to dedicate this challenge to Susan so that her memory and legacy may continue to thrive and live on.

Please give whatever you can. Any amount, no matter how small, can help to make a huge difference to the lives of the children and young people who use the hospice on a daily basis.

Thank you so much for your support.

The Slowclaimers.
