Hello all,

This year I have decided to do my bit for charity by running the Edinburgh marathon. The kind people at the Nepal trust have given our team a place to take part in the Hairy Haggis. This is a four man event to achieve the combined distant of the marathon. The best bit is that fancy-dress is compulsory... get in there!

So what about the charity that I am fund raising for?

Nepal Trust

The Nepal Trust carries out development work in the remote rural areas of North-West Nepal, an area known as the 'Hidden Himalayas'. Their projects can be divided into the following five focus areas, however since the causes of poverty are complex and interlinked, they believe it is important to provide integrated solutions.
 
Primary Healthcare
Renewable Energy
Education & Literacy
Eco-tourism & Business Development
Culture & Heritage Preservation
 
Their projects involve the empowering of local communities, which must be sustainable in the long term.

As we are a team of four our minimum target between us is only £500. I believe that with a little donation from you all we can easily exceed my target of £125 and the overall amount.
