The Maria Watt Birmingham Foundation for childhood & Teenage Leukaemia is a small, Birmingham / Solihull based Charity,

"We believe that we can make a small contribution in the fight against this devastating illness.  We are continuing with our plans to set up a research project into the causes of Childhood & Teenage Leukaemia and we have recently spoken to Professor Tim Eden, a leading Paediatric Oncologist and Haematologist based at Christies Hospital in Manchester about this.  There is a reason why so many youngsters are getting this devastating illness which is robbing so many of their precious young lives and we must find out why this happens.  As I have said on many occasions, if this can happen to our healthy 17 year old daughter, it can happen to anyone.

In addition, we are supporting the developement of a specialist Teenage Cancer Unit at Birmingham Childrens' hospital.  This unit will not only provide specialist treatment in a cleaner, safer, teenager friendly environment, but will also deal with the psychological needs of Teenagers who are diagnosed with cancer.  By thier nature Teenagers have very different requirements to those of Children or Adults"

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Maria Watt Birmingham Foundation for Childhood & Teenage Leukaemia will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
