Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to detect the odour of disease. Our research includes cancer, Parkinson's and other diseases and could save millions of lives by improving diagnostics. We already help people manage complex, life-threatening medical conditions by training Medical Alert Dogs.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I am hoping to raise money by running the Great South Run on behalf of Cancer and Bio-detection Dogs UK. This is a small charity that trains four-legged friends to sniff out early signs of cancer, and also alert people to potential hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar) that can be life-threatening, particularly in children or people with poor warning signs. Just as guide dogs can 'see' for their blind owners, a hypo-alert dog can 'sniff' things out we are unaware of! Brilliant!

Anything you can do to help would be fantastic, so thank you!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
