Thanks for taking the time to see what we are up to with the Socialholic Experiment and #Team2Quid in aid of ShelterBox.

What is this about?

As you may know, I am quite involved with social media - advising charities and others on how to get the most out of it,  the power of social media in general and how it can be harnessed for good things.

Previously, I have dispatched messages around the world to illustrate what can be achieved by charities using social media - we got one tweet to Australia in a couple of hours the first time we did it.  This time, I thought we should try something else - something a little more concrete.  So, I am asking for some money and a tiny bit of social media time.

#Team2Quid

If you donate £2, you'll be part of #Team2Quid - a hugely exclusive and influential group of people who support this experiment. :)

Who Benefits?

The money will go to Shelterbox - an amazing charity that provides boxes containing the basic requirements of shelter, warmth and self-sufficiency, that are deployed in emergency situations.  It is an incredibly simple idea that is also extremely effective.

Each box costs £490.

UPDATE: Originally, this bit said "So, let's see if we can buy a box this year" - however, we managed that in under 2 months!  So now we are going to try for two boxes this year!

By harnessing our collective power (and a couple of quid or more!), we can spread the word of this experiment and show how positive social media can be.

I would be immensely grateful if you could spare £2 (or more) to this campaign and also if you could send an email, Tweet, Buzz, Wave, Facebook or LinkedIn update to spread the word about this campaign.

Together, let us show how social media can be a force for good.

You can follow the success of the campaign via my Twitter feed or Socialholic.

For the record, this campaign started on 12 February 2010.  What can we achieve?

Thanks for your time, effort and money!

James
