Computer Weekly's search for the best use of social media in IT is back for its fourth year, in association with IBM, and once again we will be raising money for charity Computer Aid International!
Computer Aid combats poverty with practical ICT solutions. By providing proffesionally refurbished PCs to schools, hospitals and charities in developing countries across the world they give thousands of people the tools they need for development.
Telemedicine kits connect rural doctors to distant specialists and save lives, computer labs in schools allow young people to develop vital skills for future employment and providing solar powered cyber cafes to rural communities promotes entrepreneurship, distant learning and training.
Computer Aid is now the world's largest and most experienced not-for-profit provider of professionally refurbished PCs to developing countries. Since their inception in 1998 almost 200,000 computers to projects all over the world.
Computer Weekly and IBM are pleased to support this fantastic charity and look forward to seeing you at the Awards!
