We are walking the West Highland Way in order to raise awareness and money for Meningitis Research Foundation.
Two year old Sofia Crockatt was suddenly struck down with Meningococcal Septicaemia in February 2007. Thankfully, after several months in hospital she managed to pull through. However, her recovery came at a huge cost - tragically she had to have her left leg amputated below the knee and her right leg was also severely damaged.
This little girl's strength and determination has been the inspiration for our fundraising.
We have also put together a 21 track compilation CD of various original songs, covers and traditional music, all profits again going to Meningitis Research Foundation. WE MADE IT
All 10 survived what we can only describe as one of the best weeks of our lives. Not a drop of rain all week, blue skies everyday with a fine breeze to keep us motoring. The camaraderie (the craic as we say in the west) was fantastic. With "King of the Road" Dave's "feet of flames" to Steve's vegepreferian diet we have stories to last a lifetime! We'll be updating Bebo pages soon.
The fundraising and welcome-home parties raised over £1500 - many thanks to all involved.
