Somerset started the walk from coast to coast on Sunday! He has had 3 good weather days and has even had time to visit Castle Kennedy gardens where alot of the Treshnish rhododendrens came from. He has done quite alot of road walking, through forest tracks and is now heading on to more open ground with far reaching views, lots of ancient sites and cairns as well as a few wind farms! It is primarily a holiday for him, but it does seem a good opportunity to raise awareness for Practical Action, a charity which uses appropriate practical technology to improve living standards around the developing world. Somerset hopes that together with your help we could raise enough to cover the cost of a micro hydro scheme in Peru. To those 'anonymous' doners, an extra thank you as obviously we cannot thank you personally!
