Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I have chosen to run for the NOS because my mom (75) suffers from Osteoporosis. The illness has affected her bones and that is the reason why she can not make the 11 hour flight from South Africa to visit me and the kids in the UK.
Did you know that newly released figures show that 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men will have osteoporosis over the age of 50. Every 3 minutes someone has a fracture due to osteoporosis and each year, the numbers of people with osteoporosis include over 70,000 hip fractures, 50,000 wrist fractures and 120,000 spinal fractures.
I have started training late for the marathon, however having done 20 miles two weekends ago, finishing still feeling good, I have more confidence now that despite a lot less training than last year, I stand a very good chance of completing the marathon again this year.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me. The National Osteoporosis Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
There is not a lot of time left to raise funds, and there is a challenging target to be met, so please dig deep and sponsor me online now!
Many thanks for your support.
