Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I made it!!! Five big ones in the bag, only five left to meet my target!
Despite my very weird and 'extra light' training regime I had a great time ( if a bit slower than ever before). The first 13 miles were my fastest, and it was great to see Steve and Lize and Charlie at Tower Bridge. It started getting very hot, and with that in mind, I slowed right down between 14 and 17 miles. I nearly missed Steve at 19 miles at Canary Wharf had he not grabbed my arm. Had a rough patch between 22 and 23 miles when the heat was just unbearable, but kept going. The last two miles were the nicest I had ever run in the previous 5 years. The atmosphere was just fantastic. Jean-Pierre and his mate blagged some tickets for them and Steve at the end so they were watching me from the lap of luxury!
The Snow White costume was again a big hit. The kids just love it and it is so uplifting to see their faces light up. My charity arranged a hot bath at the end and a brilliant massage so I am in great shape for work tomorrow - am considering wearing my very nice medal to work (matched by some ultra comfy shoes!
Thank you for your support and messages - I could not have done it without you.
Osteoporosis literally means ‘porous bones’ and is often referred to as the ‘fragile bone disease’. The National Osteoporosis Society is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. My mom (77) suffers from osteoporosis, so it is a cause close to my heart.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: National Osteoporosis Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me now!
