I am Sonny Winston, from Rugby in Warwickshire.  Over the last few years I have undertaken charity events during the summer months, to raise money for Cancer related charities.  I started this during my Mothers struggle with the disease, and have continued to do so after she lost her battle last year.  During Mums fight with the Cancer, she was on a number of drugs, that would have at some point been directly contributed towards by Cancer Research, and I would like to show my appreciation of the extra few years we were able to share with Mum.

 

Due to a place becoming unexpectedly available, I am running The Marathon Des Sables 2011.

 

This is a 6 day Ultra Endurance run event over the Sahara Desert, totalling over 150 miles.  I will have to carry all my food and equipment for the 6 days of actual running (/walking), apart from tents which are supplied and setup by the organisers.

 

All money raised on this page, 100% of it, goes to Cancer Research via Just Giving.  I am covering the actual cost of the event personally, and via corporate sponsorship and keeping those activities separate from this Just Giving page.
