As many of you know I am not a runner and never planned to be one either!  However when my sister in law and brother lost their little boy after 18 weeks of pregnancy earlier this year it was a devastating loss to us all.  They told me of the life line that the Sands charity had offered to them during those extremely difficult first days and the support it continues to give them. 

I felt so helpless and wanted to do something to help.  So motivated by their courage and strength I decided to have a go at raising some money for this amazing charity.  So please do dig deep - the work they do is wonderful!

Sands is a national charity, established by bereaved parents in 1981.

 

We have 3 core aims which are to:

• Support anyone affected by the death of a baby;
  
• To work in partnership with health professionals to improve the quality of care and services offered to bereaved families; and
  
• To promote research and changes in practice that could help to reduce the loss of babies' lives
