Retina UK is the only UK charity dedicated solely to working for people affected by inherited sight loss. We fund medical research to accelerate the search for treatments for the future, and provide information and support to help people lead better lives today.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising money for RP Fighting Blindness.  The reason I have chosen this charity is because they have excellent projects going on to find treatments for Retina Pigmentosa.  Most of you know that I have Ushers Syndrome which is one form of RP. So contributing this will help my future, and all these people all over the world who are affected by it.

RP Fighting Blindness was concerned at the lack of knowledge about RP in the medical profession, the lack of treatment or cure, and the lack of support for people with RP, and so decided to do something about it.

RP Fighting Blindness has since evolved into a respected medical research charity and a nationwide organisation providing support and information. RP Fighting Blindness remain grounded in their volunteer roots as they seek to help patients live with RP and fund cutting edge research into the causes of and potential treatments for the disease. RP Fighting Blindness are currently going through research on stem cells and gene therapy, with your help it would support this research.

I know this is a difficult time with the recession, Christmas being over and most of you probably got a big year ahead of you. However I hope that many of you can dig your hands in your pocket and donate to a fine charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
