Story
We did it! 2 hours, 2 minutes and 2 seconds. Faster than last time but still not quite under that 2 hour barrier. Just means I'll have to go back next year. I trod on a big stone in the road at the 8 mile mark and went over on my ankle. It held out...until the finish line. And then gave way again, leading to comical scenes of me being dragged backwards in a wheelchair through a muddy field packed with people to the field hospital. anyway 2 days later and it's all fine again...if a little black and blue.
Thank you so much for being so generous and sponsoring me. I am raising money for the Friends of the Neonatal unit at St. George's Hospital in London. They asked me this year to be one of their patrons. When I visited the unit this summer, it made me realise just how lucky I've been to have 3 very big and healthy babies. It's a small charity, run by parents of children who were treated in the unit. The money I've raised will buy medical equipment, like an incubator, which they desperately need. Your money will make a real difference to some very small people. So thank you.
Next up...the london marathon?
