Sophie Runs Edinburgh For Macmillan

Edinburgh Marathon 2012 - Full Marathon · 27 May 2012 ·
I'm Sophie. I run in bright colours, with lashings of glittery silver eyeliner. And this May I'll be attempting the biggest run I've ever done in the Edinburgh Marathon to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
I wanted to run to support a cancer charity because cancer affects more people than we dare admit; because cancer doesn't care about your family circumstances, your financial situation or the support network around you, it's just there; because I remember all too clearly my own family's experience with cancer five years ago, and something needs to change.
Macmillan, however, does care. Macmillan provides counselling, financial guidance, localised support teams, and immediate advice at the end of their phone line 24/7 for those affected by cancer and those around them. Macmillan are helping things to change and providing invaluable services to many people who are definitely in need of them.
By donating through this JustGiving page, you can be sure that every penny that I raise will go straight to Macmillan. My minimum fundraising target for the race is £750 but remember: 1 in 3 people have cancer. I'm running 26.2 miles. My discomfort is very small compared to theirs, but your donation could help make theirs a little bit less. Just a pound would go a really long way.
