Story

Thanks for visiting my page (again!!)

As many of you know, I spent six months of the last year running my socks off in chilly London streets and roasting Hong Kong horse race tracks (!) in training for the London Marathon 2010. Unfortunately, Mount Eyjafjallajokull had other ideas leaving me stranded in Hong Kong watching pandas instead of running those 26.2 miles i'd been aiming for :-(

However, despite the first hand knowledge of the torture that is marathon training, i'm determined to continue to raise money for my amazing chairty, fulfill a life long ambition and thank all those who kindly donated last year by actually doing what i promised! I WILL BE RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON 2011!!!

Therefore, if you didn't get round to it last year, or are kind enough to donate again (I will maintain that the training is the hardest bit!!) i've extended my fundraising page and upped my target. In the year that has passed, St Johns Hospice have continued to do their amazing work free of charge and reliant on donations from people like yourselves. My challenge (painful it may be!) is absolutely nothing compared to those who benefit from the work that St Johns Hospice does. So dig deep guys!

For those of you who need reminding...

St Johns Hospice is based in the north of London. St John's provides invaluable support and care to anyone in central and North West London suffering from a terminal illness, ranging from cancer and HIV/AIDS to Motor Neurone Disease and vCJD. All their services are totally free of charge, which means that they rely on donations to continue providing extra special care for those with a terminal illness. I understand that, to some of you, St Johns may seem a long way away in London, however, as with any hospice, St Johns provides such an amazing service to patients, their family and friends at such a difficult time in life. I am very proud to be running with St Johns name on my vest as i know, the work they do makes such a positive difference to the lives of people with a terminal illness. Such a worthy cause!

Thank you so much!

Sophie

NB. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
