Story

Hi my name is Noodles aka Sophia and I am running ‘The Hackney Half’ half marathon in May 2018 to raise money and awareness for The British Dyslexia Association.

Being dyslexic is a part of who I am. I didn’t have the best experiences in education as a 90’s child and a 00’s teenager. Dyslexia was ‘heard of’ but I feel was misunderstood or brushed aside when I was at primary and secondary school. Luckily when I got to college they were very supportive and had a great ‘Additional Learning Support’ team in place. I was tested and begun receiving support and learned about my dyslexic traits.

My current job as a Visual Art teacher, I often teach and support students with dyslexia as there is often a higher percentage of dyslexic students who gravitate towards the creative arts. The BDA are amazing! They are very informative, supportive and  a trustworthy charity for all those who are dyslexic or even have family, friends or employees who are dyslexic.

Please donate if you can but most of all much love and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page #GoodVibes
