SOS Africa - SOS Africa Abseil · 11 December 2011 ·

SOS Africa invests 100% of all donations in the education & care of disadvantaged South African children with regular feedback to sponsors. Since 2003 the grassroots charity has provided children from the ages of 5-18 with education, care and learning support programmes tailored to their needs.

Story

The challenge: Abseil down the Kilver Court viaduct, either down a leg or straight through the middle of an arch. Spread over two days, 10th and 11th of December, local and not so local teams will compete for the bragging rights to most money raised, most daring abseiler and best fancy dress outfits (more difficult than it sounds when you can't have loose items of clothing).

Why: To raise money for a school bus so the children supported by SOS Africa can get to school more easily. The charity pledges to put all money raised by the head office and university societies to the education of 15 youngsters in South Africa, so in order to give them a school bus we have to do other things, crazy things, like abseiling down a viaduct!

How you can help: Donate what you can! Our team is aiming to raise £300 but we will be very, very happy if we can get more than that; there is a bit of friendly rivalry going, so more money equals more bragging rights. Follow the instructions below to help us out, the nice people at Justgiving make it easy.
