The aim of Support Our Soldiers is to provide support for our serving men and women, and their families at home. This is done in every practical way possible including writing to deployed personnel, sending morale boosting welfare packages (throughout the year as well as at Christmas), helping those recovering from injuries, raising welfare issues and providing support and guidance to family members.
forcespenpals.co.uk have had a close affiliation with Support Our Soldiers for over 6 years now and at this time of year particularly, Support Our Soldiers do fantastic work to raise the morale of our serving forces personnel away from home.
Their Christmas parcel appeal is particularly close to our hearts and this year for every £5 donated they'll put together a parcel on your behalf and send it on to a Serviceman or women serving overseas. You can leave your message of support when you make your donation and this will appear below. Or you can send a Christmas card or goodwill message to their Head Office and they'll include this in your parcel. The address to send to is Support Our Soldiers, Operations House, 2 Whitley Street, Bingley, West Yorkshire BD16 4JH.
They work very closely with the MOD and BFPO to ensure that our parcels don't overload the systems nor cause disruption to mail from families and friends - this is their official statement -
"The MOD welcomes SOS's work. The aspiration to provide support to the men and women on the front line is shared by many of the public. This charity has arranged with the British Forces Post Office to send high quality parcels to named Service personnel on operations in a way which causes theminimum of disruption to the operational postal service."
