My story
To tie in with the official Olympic Torch making its rounds of the UK (and passing through Windermere), South Lakeland Parks are to host their own inter-park SLP torch relay between each of our 9 Holiday Parks in the North West.
The South Lakeland Park Torchbearers (a team of South Lakeland Park's employees, including Managing Director Nigel Wimpenny and Cancer Care's Chief Executive Lynne Stafford) will carry the beacon between all 9 Holiday Parks and Head Office over two days.
The relay will start at Todber Holiday Park, Burnley Road, Gisburn, Clitheroe on the 20th June 2012 at approx 7am and will finish a day later on the 21st June 2012 at Fallbarrow Park, Rayrigg Road, Windermere.
The route will see the team cover a range of official Olympic sports including, running, road biking, mountain biking, equestrarian, rowing, sailing, swimming and canoeing between each leg of the 106.9 miles of the course.
