South Oxhey to Berkhamstead Charity Walk · 26 May 2014

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

We are walking from South Oxhey to Berkhamsted to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The reason we have decided to take up this challenge is that while women have the 'Race For Life' to participate in and raise funds, there isn't a male equivalent. We have decided that a walk from South Oxhey to Berkhamsted (approximately 17 miles) would be a good challenge, and an excellent way to raise money for such a great and worthwhile cause. The reason for the route is also down to a personal experience with cancer, as Dan Pym's mum who has recently beaten cancer lives in South Oxhey, and his girlfriend's mum who is undergoing treatment to beat it lives in Berkhamsted.

The walk will take place on Monday, May 26th, and we will take plenty of pictures along the way!

Cancer affects millions of people on a daily basis. We have all been affected by it in one way or another, directly or indirectly, and we are fighting back. We are going to put the boot to cancer, and we hope to raise a minimum of £750 for Cancer Research UK.

Anything you can spare as a donation would be greatly appreciated, and will go towards one day finding a cure and being able to beat Cancer.

The walkers are as follows: Daniel Pym, Daniel Walker, Richard (Jim) Pym, Chris Cude, , Jonathan 'JP' Parrott, Luke Williams, Adam Roe, Ray Batchelor, Keith Dredge, Nick Goldstein and Andrew Demetriou. If anyone else would like to join us, the more the merrier, contact Daniel Walker or Daniel Pym for more details!
