We decided quite late on that we wanted to do something to raise money for Marie Curie and the excellent work they do. Having had breast cancer some years ago I'm well aware of the need to help those who are coping with the disease. Marie Curie deserve our support and that's why the 5 of us are running a relay in the Great South Run this year and having fun too! With a little training help from the wonderful Sally Gunnell!!! Please help us reach our target.

Distance running is not my strong point - it brings back memories of hiding behind trees on school cross country runs and pretending we did the lot. But with the girls from work this challenge should be fun - and we get to raise money for an excellent cause. Let's hope I make it this time!

I'm running this to show Paula Radcliffe that it is possible to run without stopping for a pee on the way! And who better to raise money for than Marie Curie .. after all, everyone knows someone who's been affected by cancer.

As I'm only running a fifth of the course I've promised myself I'll try to run as fast as I can. It'll be great to run with the girls and not against them!
