BUPA Great Manchester Run 2008 · 18 May 2008 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

Hello All...Thank you for stopping by:-

The initial reason for attempting such a torture path as the "Great Manchester Run" was for a colleague JOHN SINEY who was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2007.  Due to his sheer determiantion and general positive attitude Sharon Brereton decided to get some Speedy IT butts into gear and do something to support him through his treatment.

It is with regret that John sadly lost his fight and is no longer with us.  So in memory and celebration of his life, Speedy Hire IT are now more determined and empowered to raise more money to assist with research into John's illness.

John was very moved when he learnt of our intentions to do this run and below is an extract from a message through his facebook page dated 4th Feb.

"Sounds corny but it would be an honour to be at the finish waiting for the Speedy teams (I'll supply the thank you beers!) you lot are really amazing for getting up and doing this. Also inspiration runs both ways.  Good luck with the training and please thank everyone for me."

With this in mind the Speedy IT teams will pound home on May 18th using the positive attitude and sheer determination that John was reknown for.

The best thing you guys can do to support us is dig  deep in your pockets and donate as much as you can.
