My story

On 26th January 2012 starting at 10:30am, the team at Spencer Hunt are donning their cycling shorts (and quite possibly their pyjamas) and pedaling through a 24 hour continuous relay spinning class, while still recruiting obviously, to raise money for Retrak, a UK based charity that works with street children in Africa to give them a real alternative to life on the street.

Total Fitness in Altrincham are kindly loaning us spinning bikes for the event and it will be streamed live on the internet so you can keep track of our progress:  http://www.spencerhunt.co.uk/events.

There are numerous reasons why children live and sleep on the streets such as poverty; family strife; abuse; being orphaned, often as a result of HIV/AIDS; war and famine. Often abused or violated on the street, regarded as barely human and on the very fringe of society, they eke out an existence, begging or scavenging through rubbish for food. Retrak's aim is that these children can realise their full potential and discover their inherent worth.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
