<p>On 17 September, 10 middle aged men of all different shapes and sizes are rowing 22 miles from Docklands to Richmond as one of the 400+ traditional boats taking part in the Great River Race.&nbsp; Our boat is a Drascombe Gig, a whaling boat popular at the end of the 19th century, and our expected rowing time is 4-5 hours.</p> <p>We are raising money for Spinal Research, a fantastic charity committed to finding a cure for paralysis caused by spinal injury.&nbsp; Despite the enormity of this task they are making amazing progress, with the first clinical trials of previously irreversible spinal repair planned over the next couple of years.</p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
