Story
On the 23rd December local Washington lad and keen cyclist, Stephen Willey aged 45, was subjected to a horrific and unprovoked attack while waiting for a bus with his wife in Newcastle, leaving Stephen with severe head injuries.
Since the devastating incident, Stephen has not yet regained consciousness and his condition is said to be stable but critical; his future and the extent of his injuries remains unknown.
We, Stephen’s family and friends, are hosting a charity event to raise money for the ITU and HDU departments at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary. We have organised a spinning event (as cycling is close to Stephen's heart). We aim to keep 2 bikes spinning for him for a whole week with many participants working together and riding the bike in allocated time slots.
We hope you might join us in our attempt to raise a substantial sum of money for this worthwhile cause. Our aim is to give generously towards supporting the work of the critical care teams at the RVI. Every penny helps!
With heartfelt thanks,
