When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!

We are raising money for the Stroke Association as this charity provides invaluable support to stroke survivors and the people close to them. This charity offers important information and practical guidance on how to adjust to the life changing effects that suffering from a stroke brings.

In April 2012, our usually fit and healthy mother, wife and friend suffered from a serious stroke which has left her with ongoing challenges. This event has made us realise that strokes can strike any age group or those without any previous predisposition. We hope that by raising this money, we can support an organisation that strives to not only inform and carry out vital research, but also to support those affected by this life changing event.

We are grateful for all donations made in support of Spokes for Strokes as we cycle 100 miles across the East Midlands! Thank you.
