So this year I've taken it to the next extreme and instead of just doing one I'm taking on two marathons in the space of three weeks..... Paris on April 5th followed by London on April 26th.
These'll be marathon's number 7 and 8 for me and as always I want to try and raise as much as I possibly can for what I think is a truly amazing cause.
Many of you will know my good friend Teddy Leifer and the amazing work he's doing with his own Rise Foundation and specifically the 'We Are Together' campaign.
Teddy and his colleagues created the award winning film WE ARE TOGETHER which tells the remarkable and moving story of children from the Agape orphanage in South Africa, (www.wearetogether.org). The campaign generates funds to help ensure the 50+ children of Agape Orphanage receive a good education and the chance for a bright future.
When children lose their parents, they also lose the people who would traditionally invest in their future, by paying their school fees and encouraging them to study. Donations to the RISE Foundation do not just pay the children’s school fees- it also covers their uniforms, books, school trip costs and tutoring to help provide them with the encouragement and support that they would normally have received from their parents.
