Story

Thank you for visiting my sponsorship page.

2006 is going to be a challenging year for me and I desperately need your help. Back in 2004 I ran the London Marathon and decided that it would be a great idea to do it again. In fact why just one Marathon (?) why not Two (!!) and lots more besides? In fact why not make it a whole year of running and collect the whole lot together into one big charity event?

Well here's the plan:

In March 2006 I will be running the Silverstone Half Marathon, running around the world famous race circuit. COMPLETED IN 2 HOURS 21 MINS.

In April 2006 I will be running the Flora London Marathon for the second time. COMPLETED IN 5HRS 50(ish) SLOWER THAN LAST TIME BUT HAD MORE FUN AND STOPPED TO CHAT TO PEOPLE EN ROUTE

October 1st - The Bupa Great North Run, this is the world's largest, and perhaps most famous, Half Marathon!!

HILLS, HILLS, HILLS WAS THE ORDER OF THE DAY. REALLY ENJOYED THE GREAT NORTH RUN, AND THE WEATHER WAS TERRIFIC! FINISHED IN 2:46 WHICH I WAS HAPPY WITH CONSIDERING HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE THERE AND DID I MENTION THE HILLS? THE NEW PICTURE HERE ON THE SITE WAS FROM THE GNR.

October 22nd - The Bupa Great South Run, the world's second largest 10 mile run and quickly catching up with it's big Northern Brother.

November 5th - My year will culminate in running the ING New York Marathon, which I have a space for on 5th November 2006. You can all visit me and my poor legs in my convalescence after that!!!

I'VE RETURNED FROM NEW YORK TODAY HAVING COMPLETED MY LAST MARATHON OF THE YEAR. THE COURSE WAS TOUGH, WITH SOME LONG HILLS, THE WEATHER WAS VERY COLD BUT OVERALL I HAD A GREAT TIME. I FINISHED THE COURSE IN 5 HOURS 34 MINUTES WHICH I WAS HAPPY WITH CONSIDERING THE DIFFICULTY OF THE EVENT. THANKYOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT! THAT'S IT, ALL DONE. THE END.......UNTIL NEXT TIME MAYBE?

(pic is of me and two of my lovely assistants holding me up to stop my legs giving way...)

So, as you can see I have a busy few months ahead of me and I'm not asking you to sponsor me for each individual event. Instead, please sponsor me for the entireity of my insane plans!! My chosen charity for this year will be Marie Curie who work so hard to look after people and their families who are living with the effects of cancer - please help me to support them.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

I will update this site frquently with my progress, and other running events so please check back to see how I am getting on. If you know of anyone else who would like to sponsor me, please do send the link onto them.

Many thanks for your support.
