At the end of August, we'd better have some sunshine---because I'll be headed into the Highlands of Scotland on a 6-day, coast-to-coast ride to raise some much-needed cash for World Horse Welfare!

WHW is a British charity, formerly known as ILPH, that is exactly what it says on the tin: concerned with the welfare of horses everywhere, including providing sanctuary to abused and neglected horses and ponies.

This ride, called the "Coast-to-Coast Challenge", is a group ride, and we ride ponies provided by the organisers---sadly, Benji will have to stay home for this one! I'm sure he'll take advantage of the situation, and turn into a giant brown balloon again as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, I'll be staying slim by riding up to 6 hours a day across some pretty rough terrain---some of the most beautiful in the world, I'm told!--- and camping out (I hope there's no sharp pebbles).

To take part, I have to meet a fundraising total of 1500 squids...and that's where you come in!  Every little helps! So, please toss a few pounds into my virtual hat, and help thank genus Equidae for their thousands of years of service and friendship!
