The Lionesses joined up with Spoon 19 months ago. To become a Lioness, players must be over the age of thirty and have a minimum of 10 international caps for any of the home union teams. The players fund their own costs to play in the events to help raise the profile of the charity as well as raising funds for disadvantaged children. By attending these high profile tournaments the team is generating extensive direct corporate and individual support for the children Spoon helps.  Over the next six months the players will be participating in many fundraising activities including skydives, fun runs and sponsored silences to help reach their fundraising target.
