Story

My mother had a liver condition known as NASH (Non - Alchoholic SteatoHepatitis) which caused cirrhosis and was in need of a liver transplant. On 28th March 2011, she passed away just as she was going onto the transplant list.

Like many people, I knew little about liver disease before mum was diagnosed with one, and like many people with major health conditions she suffered from multiple health problems, including diabetes. Helping one condition often didn't help the another.

Towards the end mum suffered from Hepatic Encethalopathy which affected her brain functions, including concentration and memory. Consequently she couldn't write properly and would often repeat conversations. This also made her tired a lot.

Having watched my mother go through this I wish to help someone else like my mum get the treatment they need. Maybe by doing so someone else might even get the transplant my mother never got to have. The money i raise will help towards the work that 'The British Liver Trust ' do including research for new drugs and treatments.
