G’day sport,
Well, as if once wasn’t enough, I decided to run the Flora London Marathon again to see if it hurts as much second time round!
This year I’m raising money for a very special charity that has provided invaluable support to my brother and his wife through a very difficult time. S.P.R.I.N.G. (Supporting Parents and Relatives in Neonatal Grief - www.springsupport.org.uk) are a small charity that will benefit greatly from all donations, of any size. This will enable them to continue providing support to family and friends who experience such loss.
To help increase the fundraising, Anna (my better half) is running the Edinburgh Marathon on the 31 May and has also decided to run on behalf of S.P.R.I.N.G. I’m not saying that we are competitive, but whatever time I set, Anna aims to beat it!
So, if you fancy encouraging a little rivalry between us please donate as much or as little as you can…..every little bit helps.
Thanks for your support and taking the time to read this.
See you at the finish line!!!
Nigel & Anna xx
***** UPDATE *****
Well it’s finally over. The alarm went off at 5:15am Sunday morning, time for a quick bowl of readybrek & a banana then off to catch the coach down into town. As 9.45am approached it was fairly obvious that the weathermen had got it wrong and it was going to be a lovely sunny day…not ideal for marathon running. Anyway to cut a long story short, the start gun sounded and 4 hours 12 minutes and 27 seconds later I crossed the finish line…happy, hot and very hungry!
A massive thank you to everyone for their support and sponsorship.
Anna, the benchmark has been set. Good luck!
