Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust (ACT) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

ACT's major project this year is to raise £254,000 for a portable CT scanner for Neurosciences at Addenbrooke's.

It can currently take up to one hour for a team of staff to take a very sick patient down to the static scanner. The portable scanner can be used at the bedside in a ward, in theatre or in intensive care. It is urgently required.

My dad Steve is one of the many people who have needed the use of a CT Scanner. Without this it would of been extremely difficult to diagnose his Myasthenia Gravis (a rare auto-immune disease) or Cancer of the Thymoma. Because of this technology dad had the tumour removed and is now on the road to recovery and the Myasthenia Gravis is under control with medication.

With the help of Steff - a fellow Cocker Spaniel enthusiast, we are organising a Sponsored Dog Walk. We (and many others) will walk our dogs on the Copdock and Washbrook walk (4 miles) on 26th April 2009, so please, dig deep and help this fantastic cause!

Many Thanks for your time,

Stacey
