Fundraising for The Limbless Association
Thank you for taking the time to visit our Kili fundraising page
The Challenge: , 7-19th September 2010As you may already know, Stan has already conquered this mountain 6 years ago. However, too young at the time, he promised to take his daughter one day. Never a man to go back on his word, he now finds himself once again preparing for the challenge. But this challenge will prove to be a very different experience to his prior adventure.Accompanying both Stan and Faye on their ascent are a wonderful team of people, both able bodied and amputees. Amongst us is the famous Raymondo who is a quad amputee who has lost both his legs below the knee, one arm through the elbow and the other arm just below the elbow. He hopes to become the first quad amputee to climb Mount Kilimanjaro! Our goal is to get the whole group to the summit at 5,895m, ascending over the course of 8 days, averaging approx 5-6 hours walking a day and along the way raising over £100,000 to facilitate a better life for all amputees.
