Story
Hello,
I really don't like running but this isn't about me - it's about supporting Barnado's and, specifically, helping it to make a positive impact on the lives of young carers.
The average young carer is just 12 years old but takes on adult responsibilities such as providing nursing and personal care, cooking, cleaning and shopping for family members with physical and/or emotional problems.
There are more than 175,000 of these exceptional young people and something like 10% of this total are caring for more than 50 hours a week.
You can find more information about young carers here
The Brighton Marathon takes place in April, which gives you about ten months to save your money ahead of making a bumper donation. If you save just £1 a month for the next ten months you could support my run to the tune of £10. If you squirrel away £2 a month that's £20.
Corporate sponsorship opportunities are also available!
This is our chance to do something good together - something we can be proud of.
I'll do the running if you feed me some pound coins. Heck, I'll do it anyway.
Thank you for your support.
Stefan
