On the 17th April 2012, my seven year old step son Ciaran went out to play football with his friends. But sadly he never made it to the pitch.

Ciaran suffered a fatal Cardiac Arrest.

Had a life saving piece of equipment known as a Defibrilator been present Ciarans life could have been saved.

Having raised Ciaran from the young age of 2 I always looked at him as my own. He was sports mad and for a 7 year old was very talented. His dreams and ambitions were much bigger than those of a 7 year old.

By doing this challenge I hope I can raise much needed funds, so life saving Defibrilators can be bought and donated by Ciarans Cause to Primary Schools and sports clubs.

Remember Cardiac Arrest takes the lives of 600 young children a year. Thats just over 12 children a week!! A Cardiac Arrest strikes without warning and holds no boundaries. It can happen to anyone of any fitness level!!!

A Defibrilator is a reset button for the heart, having a Defibrilator present can restore the heart normal rhythm, giving the patient a 74 per cent chance of survival.
