Catherine and Steph jump out of a plane! · 31 August 2012

St Giles Hospice provides vital care to local people, and their loved ones, living with a terminal illness. Our dedicated team provides individually-tailored care, free of charge, either at the hospice or in patients’ own homes across our communities.

Story

We're doing a parachute jump on 31st August (weather permitting) at Hinton Skydiving Centre to raise money for St Giles Hospice. You may have heard of St Giles if you live in Uttoxeter as they run a bookshop here. I've (Catherine) been a volunteer at St Giles for three years and would like to support the great work they do caring for local people.

Donating through this page is secure and straightforward. All the money you donate will go straight to St Giles - we are paying for the cost of our parachute jumps ourselves so it will not come out of our sponsorship. If you pay taxes, for every £1 you donate St Giles will receive £1.25 through Gift Aid as they can reclaim taxes from the government. Please take pity on us for being insane enough to want to jump out of a plane and freefall at 120mph! :D The money is going to a very good cause and even if you can only donate a little it will be a huge help. If you don't want to donate online there will also be a sponsorship form at St Giles bookshop in Uttoxeter so you can donate there.

EDIT: The jumps have now been completed - see the updates below!
