Three years ago my daughter, Virginia, was found to have a hydatidiform mole (a tumour develops instead of a healthy pregnancy).  Unfortunately it was not cured by initial surgery and developed into persistant gestational trophoblastic disease: if left untreated, a virulent and rapidly spreading form of cancer.  Thankfully the disease is highly curable with the right treatment, which my daughter received from Professor Seckl and his team at Charing Cross Hospital, London - the world-leading centre for research and treatment of this type of illness.

Last year Virginia and her husband Graham became the proud parents of baby Adelaide, who has brought love and joy into all our lives.

I have teamed up with Dorothy, a friend for many years, to walk from Land's End to John o' Groats.  The aim of our walk is to raise funds for further research by Professor Seckl and his team.
