<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>Hello, we are going to be completing an un-aided tandem ride from Plymouth Hoe to Southampton General hospital. The trip is around 160 miles and will be completed over three days along the coastal roads and then up through New Forest National Park.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;">This trip is to raise money for both charities where the total amount raised will be split between the two.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;"><br /></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;">&nbsp;</span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>The Charities</strong></span>:</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>HeartSWell South West</strong></span>, an organisation that has played an extremely important role over the years in helping to develop one of the best Cardiac Units in the country.&nbsp; HeartSWell have donated some &pound;500,000 to &pound;700,000 of equipment to Derriford Hospital and in August 2001 the HeartSWell Lodge opened to provide much needed accommodation for the relatives and carers of cardiac patients.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><br /></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Southampton General</span></strong> have many children who come in for congenital cardiac service, they stay in the purpose built E1 (Ocean Ward). its designed to keep children at ease while dealing their treatment, pain and also to allow to forget why they are in there.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">they often have to treat babies and small children for&nbsp;</p> <ul style="margin-bottom: 0cm; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium;" type="disc"> <li class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN">Minor treatments &ndash; such as surgery to correct a heart valve abnormality or small holes in the heart</span></li> <li class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN">Major treatments &ndash; including catheter (or keyhole) procedures and heart surgery</span></li> </ul> <p>these operations and the machinery used cost lots of money and need the help of donations to help.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">by making a dontation on this page you are making a difference to someones life by providing them the support and care they need, anyone may need life saving treatment even you.
