We support research into all aspects of cancer through the work of more than 4,250 scientists, doctors and nurses. Over the past 10 years alone, thousands of lives have been saved through earlier detection and improved treatments. But, much work remains to be done if we are to achieve our aim of beating cancer.

Cancer will touch us all in some way at some time. This is my small way to help all of us and our children in the future.

Sunday 4th May 2008 - Kings Lynn 'GEAR' - UK
Today was my personal achievement in running. My time was not a personal best, but I had the pleasure to run with, and (just) beat across the line, the legendary 'Ron Hill'. If you have no idea who Ron Hill is, then your are either too young or are not into running.

What the papers say: Olympic marathon star and sporting legend Ron Hill, who posed for photographs and signed autographs for fellow competitors, said: "It's been an excellent race – but don't let anyone tell you it is easy, it is not. The course is quite challenging, but the spectators really urge you on. It is a real achievement for everyone who has completed it and I am impressed with some of the performances I have seen, particularly from the veteran runners."
