This Easter I will be Hitchhiking 1200 miles from England to Morocco with a team from Nottingham University (the fabulous Jenny Kiralfy and Sherbaz Ahmed). It's in support of Link Community Development who do happy things in Africa - we're all for that, right? In order to do the Hitch, I have to raise £350 for the charity.

Me: Why are you doing this?
Stephen: I do not know.

Me: How did you sign up?
Stephen: I do not remember - I may have been hypnotised into it.

Me: Are you actually going to do the Hitch?
Stephen: If I raise anything then I will have to.

Me: Are you optimistic about the trip?
Stephen: Of course! I'll be preparing by practicing my hitchhiking poses, foreign hitching phrases and my James Bond skills in case we are kidnapped.

Me: Okay - I can donate to any charity, why should I give my money to you?
Stephen: Pleaaaaaaseee :)  During the Hitch I shall send you a daily email update with photos (unless I die/am kidnapped) and if you donate at least £30 I will send you a postcard from Morocco!
