My personal message:

                           Bike the Baltic 2008 .

Warsaw to St. Petersburg.             Distance - 2091 km

This picture was taken in a restaurant on December 2nd 2006. Marie was 47 on that day. It was her last ever birthday. Just over two weeks earlier she had been told that her cancer had spread to her liver and that she did not have long to live. Looking at the photo, you would be hard pressed to believe that and it sums up Marie's attitude to her illness. She was determined to live the life she had left as fully as she could. She fought her cancer, both mentally and physically, right up to the time that it became too malevolent even for her.  Less than six months after this photo was taken, Marie died at home, where she wanted to be.

What happened to Marie is still happening to many people every day. The purpose of my undertaking this bike ride is to raise money to support those who help terminal cancer sufferers to live life as fully as they can, to face the bad times and the fears and, when the time comes, to leave life according to their wishes.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. As I will pay my own expenses, such as flights, accommodation and food, every penny you donate will go to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
