Updated 27th May
Well thats it!!!
I completed 300 miles in just over 5 days, a year after the original trip was scheduled to take place!
China was fantastic (apart from the climbs) and the Wall is amazing too (also apart from the climbs).
Thank you all for your donations and I am delighted to have made the £5000 mark which is nearly 200% of the minimum amount required!
I will try to get some photos on this page this week while my bum returns to normal (with feeling and wobbly bits).
Best Wishes

One week until the fun begins!
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Please note the date of the trip is 14th May 2010 and not the cancelled date at the top left of this page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Diabetes UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
New Update 25th February 2010
I have commenced training (again!) and I am on a new bike called 'Betty 2'.
The knee is giving me serious problems already and I am quite concerned at the swelling after each session, however it will not stop me making the trip this time!
Did my first spinning class last week and it was murder, so I think I may just be entering a world of pain!
Will try and update once a week from now on

UPDATE 15th July 2009
After having to cancel the original trip due to a car accident, I am delighted to say that I have re-arranged a new date to complete the challenge of cycling the Great Wall of China. I will now be jetting off in May 2010 with two colleagues from work, Andy and Tim.
Although my injured knee has not healed fully, I am confident I can start training at the turn of the year(fingers crossed).
I will keep you all updated on my progress.
Many thanks
Stephen J
