Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. Greenwich Starting Blocks charity aims to support talented young local athletes, with a real chance of making Team GB for the 2012 London Olympics, through the next four years of training and endeavour. As a Trustee of the charity I have met most of the seven young men and women that we are currently sponsoring and their dedication and enthusiasm absolutely shines through; but they have many costs to meet. I am aiming to lose two and a half stone, with a stretch target of three stone in 131 days, this from a starting weight of 18.5 stone. Anyone who knows how much I enjoy socialising (!) will know that this will prove far from easy, but with these younsters as my inspiration I'm determined to make it. You can sponsor me by the lb, for reaching my target with a little extra for making my stretch target; whichever way you want. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Greenwich Starting Blocks Trust gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me now! THE GRAND RESULT When I weighed out on the morning of April 1 I had lost 47lbs which equates exactly to one pound every three days of the diet. Since then I've lost a couple of more pounds and I'm at 15 stone exactly a loss of 3.5 stone. Opposite is a current pic which I think does look somewhat thinner faced than the previous one. Money is still coming in and I really hope my target will be reached. Thank you so much from me and the seven young athletes for your support.

You have made a great start! Keep it up and you will be fit enough to enter the Olympics yourself! Donation by Shirley Nelson on 26/11/08
